GM To Get Consumers Rebate For Flint Plant 9-23-2010

FLINT, Mich. -- Consumers Energy Corp. will be rewarding a local General Motors plant Thursday for energy conversation efforts.
Flint Metal Center, 2238 W. Bristol, will collect the rebate check for its work to save energy.
Earlier this year, Consumers gave Flint Powertrain a $97,000 check for updating to more efficient lighting.
Officials said the rebate check for Flint Metal won't be as large, but it is an important step at a plant that earlier this summer became a landfill-free site.
The rebate is part of $31 million in incentives that utility company will pay to business customers for energy efficiency projects.
WNEM TV5 will have complete coverage of the 12:45 p.m. ceremony.
