Authorities ID Remains Found In Bay Co. Woods 9-23-2010

Police said they have identified the remains of a man discovered last week in a wooded area in Bay County.
The Bay City Times reported Thursday the skeletal remains found Sept. 17 in Hampton Township belong to 34-year-old Joshua M. Parks.
A warrant was issued for Parks on Aug. 6 on two counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct.
Township Police Chief Gerald Runde said dental records helped authorities positively ID Parks.
Runde said it appears the Hampton Township resident committed suicide.
The chief estimates Parks went missing about the middle of June.
A pair of hikers discovered the body. They spotted a red backpack in the woods and, on approaching it, discovered the remains nearby.
The Michigan penal code describes criminal sexual conduct in the fourth degree as being a misdemeanor, punishable by imprisonment for not more than 2 years or a fine of not more than $500.00, or both.
