Grandson Charged In Elder Embezzlement Case 9-23-2010

A man has been arrested after authorities said he embezzled more than $100,000 from his grandfather.
Ninety-year-old Spencer Shumway's grandson, Michael Miller, moved in with his family into Shumway's home.
Police said Miller used his power of attorney to move his grandfather to a nursing home.
Authorities said during a news conference on Thursday that he then used Shumway's money to flip homes in Indiana and went through $447,000 for his own personal use, draining his grandfather's bank accounts.
Investigators said that after Miller put his name on the bank accounts, one year later, only $2.30 remained.
Genesee County Sheriff Robert Pickell said Miller is being charged with embezzling a sum greater than $100,000 from Shumway.
