Flint City Council Rejects Kettering's Police Plan 9-28-2010

The Flint City Council rejected Kettering University's offer to help pay for five police officers to patrol the campus and surrounding areas.
Kettering was offering to pay $65,000 per officer -- leaving the city to pick up just $11,000 for each.
On Monday city officials said they simply do not have enough money to pay for it.
Flint is currently facing a $2 million deficit for the next fiscal year.
Kettering officials said it will go elsewhere to help improve pubic safety around campus.
Kettering has been paying the city for two officers at $90,000 each.
