Parole Absconder Stabs Himself After Auto Theft 10-05-2010

A parole absconder is in a Saginaw Hospital after a bizarre confrontation in Saginaw Township.
Police told WNEM TV5 that a man spotted the suspect driving his daughter's stolen car on Willowbrook near Lawndale late Monday night.
The man pursued the stolen vehicle and forced the driver inside to pull over.
According to police, that's when the escapee pulled out a knife and stabbed himself in the chest.
The 52-year-old Holland man told police he stabbed himself because he did not want to return to the prison.
Police said his wounds are not considered serious.
No other information was released.
