Suspect In Serial Stabbings Faces New Charge 10-07-2010

The suspect in the Flint serial stabbing cases is facing a charge of malicious destruction of property.
Elias Abuelazam, 34, was accused Thursday of smashing a car window in a bar parking lot in Genesee Township.
Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton said that the July 12 incident may have been in retaliation for something that happened inside Jester's Lounge on North Center Road in Genesee Township.
The charge is a felony with a maximum penalty of five years in prison.
Abuelazam already faces one murder charge and five attempted murder charges.
Five men were killed and nine injured in a series of stabbings in the Flint area.
Abuelazam also is suspected in four attacks in Virginia and Ohio. Leyton said the investigation and forensic testing of evidence continues in those cases.
Abuelazam was arrested in Atlanta on Aug. 11 while trying to catch a flight to Israel, his native country.
