M-46 Road Work Begins Over Tittabawassee River 10-11-2010

The Michigan Department of Transportation is scheduled to begin curb repair work on M-46 over the Tittabawassee River in Saginaw Township Monday.
In addition to these repairs, MDOT said the final stage of resurfacing work, left over from the 2009 construction season, will be completed.
At least one lane will remain open in each direction on M-46 for the duration of this project.
The work is expected to be completed by early November.
MDOT began bridge work, including expansion joint replacement and deck patching, on this bridge and the East Overflow last August. Work was suspended toward the end of the year to allow the Saginaw County Road Commission to proceed with a nearby local project.
The remaining MDOT resurfacing work is now on track to be completed this year.
The project is funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. J. Slagter & Son Construction Company, Wayland, is the contractor on the $903,000 project.
