Bay City's St. Stan's Catholic School To Close 10-11-2010

Bay Area Catholic Schools announced on Sunday plans that would involve operating three elementary schools instead of the current four.
The school slated for closure is St. Stanislaus School, 900 S. Grant St. Forty-two students currently attend the school.
"It's really hard, we've had parents come in with tears all morning long," Principal Terrie DeWaele said. "We'll get through this together. We're a system -- we're not just one school."
Parents, staff and parishioners were asked for their feedback, and church officials said those comments will be considered for inclusion in the plan.
Bay Area Catholic Schools will present the plan to Bishop Joseph Cistone for final approval.
The elementary schools that will remain open are Holy Trinity at 1004 S. Wenona St., St. James at 715 14th St., both in Bay City, and St. John the Evangelist at 619 Main St., in Essexville.
