Virg Bernero Talks New Job Creation Plan In Flint 10-14-2010

Democratic gubernatorial candidate Virg Bernero visited Flint on Thursday to discuss his plan for job creations and state urban revitalization.
Bernero said if he's elected as governor, he wants to kick off a "Make it in Michigan for Free" program. He said that plan will entice manufacturing companies to come to our state and bring in jobs.
Bernero addressed a small group of supporters at the old DuPont property in Flint.
"We know what made this state great, and it was manufacturing," Bernero told the crowd. "We made the things that made America great. And we can again."
At one point, Bernero went as far as saying he's obsessed with manufacturing. And that it's the key to reopening the struggling job market in Michigan.
Bernero also attended a rally at UAW Local 659 later in the afternoon. Lt. Gov. candidate Brenda Lawrence and Congressman Dale Kildee were also at the event.
Republican gubernatorial candidate Rick Snyder had this response to Bernero's plan:
"Bernero's plan leaves the door wide open for companies to move in and directly compete against Michigan-based manufactures. We don't need more incentives. We need to reinvent Michigan's tax structure to make it more competitive so all businesses - new ones and existing ones -- are able to compete on a level playing field and create jobs."
