47th Annual Northwood Auto Show Revs Up 10-14-2010

The student-organized Northwood Auto Show is taking place this weekend at the university's campus in Midland, a show which draws tens of thousands of automobile enthusiasts from across the state.
This year marks the 47th anniversary of the show.
Over 450 new domestic and imported cars, trucks, vans, experimental, specialty and recreational vehicles will be featured.
A few of the special vehicles viewable by the public include:
Chevy Volt, production model Hyundai Equus (its North American premiere), Mitsubishi all-electric powered car iMiEV, Nissan Nismo 370Z, Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione, the Porsche Carrera GT, a Bentley Continental Super Sport, Aston Martin Vantage V8, Ferrari 458 Italia, Ferrari California and a 2011 Audi A8L.

Also expected at the show are Rick Bottom’s nine second Camaro, a Northwood race car which is a 1972 Datsun transformed into a Nissan 1200, over 20 off-road/mudding rigs, Robb Brent Racing (who recently won at Pocono), two Lingenfelter Trans-Ams, Specter Werkes Z06 Corvette and Firebreather from the movie Jinn (a customized 2010 Camaro) from Classic Design Concepts.
Other modern designs and muscle on display will be the 2011 Ford Fiesta and Escape, 2011 Cadillac CTS-V coupe, Chevrolet ZR1 and Team Harley Davidson.
****Northwood University has just learned that the main entrance to Northwood (Cook Road) will be closed as of noon Friday, October 15, throughout the entire weekend. Please use the detour of Saginaw Road to our campus.
