Search Continues For Missing Tuscola Co. Inmate 10-18-2010

An escaped parolee has the Tuscola County Sheriff's Department asking residents to be on the look out.
State Police said their search has expanded in their efforts to find a 34-year-old inmate who walked away from a corrections facility.
According to a news release, Jasen Silverman escaped from the Residential ReEntry Program while working on Chambers Road in Indianfields Township just before 9 a.m. on Monday.
Investigators with the state police told TV5 overnight that Silverman is serving time for property crimes and is not considered to be a threat to the public.
Deputies said Silverman may be wearing a white thermal shirt or blue prison uniform.
Authorities said they would search until dark and then take up the hunt Tuesday morning.
Silverman is 5-feet 7 inches tall, weighs about 150 pounds and has multiple tattoos, including the word "Silverman" and a Leprechaun on his right forearm.
They also said said Silverman was with a work group and was last seen running south towards a wooded area.
"Any people out there in the public, any residents in the area -- if you see somebody strange that [you] don't recognize, call 911 and report the person," said Michigan State Police Sgt. Jeoss Boyer.
Authorities told TV5's Liz Gelardi that Silverman could be carrying a chain saw file, which could be used as a weapon.

Records show he was convicted of breaking and entering and receiving stolen property.
Silverman had been at the facility since Sept. 29. Michigan State Police, Tuscola County Sheriff's department and local police are all on scene and have set up a command center at the facility's parking lot. A Department of Corrections emergency response team has also been called in to assist with the search.
Authorities have also taken to the sky in an effort to comb surrounding woodlands and farms for Silverman.
Police told TV5 there's a possibility that Silverman might try to make his way to the Detroit area.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Tuscola County Sheriff's Department at 989-673-8161.
