Parents Criticize High School's Grading System 10-19-2010

Parents of students at one Bay County high school give an "F" to the schools' grading system.
There are claims being made by parents that Bangor Township's John Glenn High School's "standards-based learning" system results in falling and failing grades.
But the principal said it allows for redos in the courses.
Bangor Township Schools superintendent Shawn Bishop told the Bay City Times the new system of grading will change the way teachers give instruction and will focus on upper-level thinking skills.
A meeting is planned for Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the school library to discuss the issue.
John Glenn High School has about 930 students in grades nine though 12.
