2 Men Killed In Huron County Plane Crash ID'd 10-19-2010

HURON COUNTY, Mich. -- Authorities said a two-seat airplane crashed near a small airport in Huron County on Monday, killing both men on board.
The Huron County Sheriff's Department says the plane had just taken off from Sebewaing Township Airport on Monday evening when it appeared to experience mechanical difficulties.
The Sheriff's Department says the crash killed 54-year-old plane owner Allan C. Lumley of Lapeer and 53-year-old Douglas Kerchner of Goodrich.
Investigators believe Lumley was piloting the plane. Kerschner holds a pilot's instructor license.
The department says the plane may have been trying to return to the airport when it crashed into a field.
Officials with the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board were at the crash site on Tuesday, about 35 miles east of Saginaw.
Autopsies on the victims are complete and investigators said they still don't know what caused the crash.
