With Server Dried Out, City's Website Returns 10-19-2010

Bay City's website is up and running after last week's fire knocked out the site's main servers at City Hall.
That server had to be taken off-site to be dried out, after getting doused by the sprinkler system.
Now that it's back, residents can use the site to pay utility bills and check other city information.
Temporary offices are open to handle other city business.
Officials believe the building could be closed to public business for up to six months and have released a list of new locations for City Hall operations.
The treasurer, accounting and accounts receivable departments are in the former bank at 260 Washington Ave. Officials said taxes and utility bills can be paid in person at this location.
The City Manager's office, assessing, City Clerk, Community Development, Human Resources, Payroll and Purchasing departments have been moved to the former Social Security Administration building at 700 Fourth St.
That location will open for business Monday.
The city's Building Code Enforcement, Engineering and Planning and Zoning functions have moved to Fire Station No. 5 at 1205 Smith Street.
For Friday, absentee ballots and applications can be mailed to the city or left in the utility payments drop box, which has been relocated to the front of City Hall on Washington Avenue.
The same functions can be delivered to the Social Security Admin building at 700 Fourth St.
Anyone seeking to call the relocated temporary City Hall can do so by dialing either 989-894-8200 or 989-894-8283.
