Flint Eyes New Budget Plan To Ease $5M Deficit 10-20-2010

Flint Mayor Dayne Walling is talking job cuts, or raising taxes, if employees don't make wage concessions in the next 30 days.
On Tuesday, Walling laid out a proposed five-point budget plan to erase a projected $5 million deficit the city faces.
  1. Adjust services for savings
  2. Roll back employee compensation
  3. Resize personnel levels
  4. Generate new revenue
  5. Fiscal stabilization bond

Walling said more than 50 employees could be laid off, many of them in public safety.
