Help Send Santa To Our Troops Serving Overseas 10-22-2010

The sixth annual event, formerly known as Help Send Santa to Baghdad, has changed its name, but its mission remains the same.
Organizers of the Send Santa to the Troops drive will continue taking donations through Nov. 21.
They're looking for items like candy, beef jerky, phone cards, toothbrushes games, batteries and sunblock.
Last year, Send Santa to the Troops sent more than 900 packages to U.S. troops and raised about $13,000 to ship the packages.
Donations will be accepted at several locations including the Bay City Armory.
Drop off locations include:
  • The Alma Armory, 710 S. State, Alma;
  • Bay City Armory, 2510 Wilder, Monitor Township;
  • American Legion, 700 Adams, Bay City;
  • Brady's Sports Bar & Diner, 512 E. Midland, Bay City;
  • 7-Eleven, 3543 Old Kawkawlin, Bangor Township;
  • Eudici's Pizza, 184 Church, Tittabawassee Township;
  • Aleda E. Lutz Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 1500 Weiss, Saginaw;
  • Saginaw Spirit office, 5789 State, Saginaw Township;
  • Glen's Market, 2206 South M-76, West Branch;

In addition, organizers are hosing several Stuff the Bus events this weekend.
Blue Lake's Stuff-The-Bus Weekend
  • Nov. 19th - Garber Buick, State St., Saginaw - 5am to 7pm
  • Nov 20th - Suski Chevrolet, Main St., Birch Run - 8am to 4pm - Glen's Market, Wright Ave., Alma - 8pm - 4pm - Saginaw Spirit Game, Dow Event Center, Saginaw, 5:30pm - 7pm
  • Nov. 21st - Kmart Parking Lot Euclid and Wilder, Bay City - 8am to 5pm

The public is also asked to volunteer Nov. 22 to help pack the packages. That event starts at 9 a.m. at the Bay City Armory.
