City Council Backs Off Sign Ordinance, For Now 10-26-2010

The Mount Morris City Council voted unanimously to suspend enforcement of its sign ordinance after residents expressed outrage.
During a meeting Monday night, council members heard dozens of complaints from the community about the ordinance that's been forcing residents to remove lawn signs supporting school athletics and other causes.
Violators of the ordinance were being subjected to a $500 fine and the possibility of 90 days in jail.
The Planning Commission is expected to take up the issue when it meets next week.
