Halloween Displays, Buildings Impacted By Wind 10-26-2010

The severe weather that went through Mid-Michigan could impact the construction of the new YMCA in Bay City.
Contractors said the unsupported walls concrete walls can catch the wind, creating a dangerous situation for workers.
So Tuesday morning, crews were busy working to make the worksite safe as the winds picked up.
“We've braced all the walls that are not supported with a roof,” said Scott Carmona, with the YMCA facility. “We'll grout the block so they don't tip. We'll make them solid and be ready when the big wind comes up.”
Project leaders said when the winds exceed a sustained 25 mph, they call a halt to the work and get their crews out of harm’s way.
Meanwhile, many Halloween lovers have just finished decorating their homes for the season.
Those who have packed the yard with inflatable monsters, witches and other creepy things are keeping an eye on Tuesday and Wednesday’s windy conditions.
TV5 talked to some homeowners who say they're taking extra precautions to make sure their spooky decor makes it to the weekend.
“I just drop them down, put a black bag over them and some weight,” said Ronald Bowen. “I'll come back later and put them back up.”
Halloween is the second most popular holiday for outdoor decorations after Christmas.
