39 Years Later, Vietnam Vet Earns High Honors 11-01-2010

U.S. Rep. Dave Camp presented more than a half dozen medals and commendations earned during military service, including a Purple Heart, to Gregory Rush, a Vietnam War veteran, on Monday.
The 10:30 a.m. event was held at the American Legion Post 439 in Saginaw.
Rush earned the following medals during his service in the U.S. Army from 1968-71:
  • The Bronze Star Medal with 1 oak leaf cluster
  • The Purple Heart Medal with 1 oak leaf cluster
  • The Army Commendation Medal with 1 oak leaf cluster
  • National Defense Service Medal
  • Vietnam Service Medal with 1 bronze service star
  • Republic of Vietnam Campaign Ribbon with Device
  • Sharpshooter Badge with Pistol Bar
  • Marksman Badge with Rifle Bar
