High School Bus Involved In Crash; No Injuries 11-03-2010

Emergency crews were called to the scene of a school bus crash in Midland County early Wednesday morning.
The crash occurred just before 7 a.m. near the intersection of Freeland Road and Sasse Road, just west of Freeland.
WNEM TV5’s Jay Brandow reported that the Hemlock School District bus was stopped to pick up a student when a vehicle slammed into the back of it.
That vehicle ended up under the back bumper of the bus, then caught fire.
“Our kids were taken care of, our superintendent was here right after it happened and made sure our kids are being taken care of the way they should be,” said Hemlock Schools board member Bob Wetherbee.
Police have not determined what caused the driver to rear-end the bus.
No students were injured in the crash.
The fire was quickly put out and the driver escaped with very minor injuries.
