School Says Student Injured Following Bus Crash 11-04-2010

WNEM TV5 is learning more details about Wednesday’s school bus crash in Midland County.
Hemlock Superintendent Corrine Netzley said a middle school student suffered a fractured ankle, fractured collarbone and a concussion after a vehicle slammed into the back of the bus.
The collision occurred around 7 a.m. near the intersection of Freeland Road and Sasse Road, just west of Freeland.
Netzley said the student had just boarded the bus at the time of the crash and was thrown by the impact.
The female bus driver, a nine-year veteran, suffered a "whiplash-type" injury to her back and neck, Netzley said.
Both were treated at a local hospital and sent home.
Police have not determined what caused the driver to rear-end the bus.
