Weekend Brawl Has Bay City Leaders On Edge 11-09-2010

BAY CITY, Mich. -- Officers in Bay City continue to investigate a weekend fight that erupted in the business district of the downtown area early Sunday morning.
The Bay City Times first reported that a fight broke out around 2 a.m. near Westown Place, a nightclub on Midland Street.
After an initial investigation, police said between 30-40 people were involved.
Bay City Commissioner Kevin Novellino, and owner of Brooklyn Boyz Pizza on Midland Street, witnessed the fight.
Novellino said that business owners in the area are fed up with recent violence sparked by a rowdy crowd. He said he plans to bring up the issue in a meeting with other city leaders.
"People were screaming, yelling and there was a lot of confrontation," Novellino told WNEM TV5. "It was just mayhem. It's just not acceptable on our streets here in Bay City."
