Tough Questions: District Owes Programs Cash 11-09-2010

They're after school programs designed to keep students engaged and off the streets.
Now, the people who run them say the district is leaving them high and dry.
They say they've yet to be paid for any of their services this year.
So far, the after school program coordinators haven’t been paid a dime in two months, since the program started. The school district said the payments have been processed a month late.
“They are about a month behind,” said Saginaw Public Schools spokeswoman Safiya Mosley. “The program started at the end of September [and] vendors will receive payment at the end of this week."
