City Voids Tickets Given To Veterans On Holiday 11-12-2010

A handful of veterans who received parking tickets on Veterans Day won’t have to pay them.
The tickets were handed out Thursday by a 69-year-old city employee, who is also a Vietnam veteran, during an annual luncheon at the American Legion Post in downtown Bay City.
On Friday, the Downtown Development Authority decided the five tickets for cars parked illegally in a permit-only lot near would not be enforced.
The city employee who issued the $10 parking tickets said he was just doing his job.
