TV5 Investigates: Street Sign Rules To Cost Cities 11-15-2010

You probably never bothered to notice whether the letters on your town’s street signs are upper case, lower case or both.
A new federal law is now forcing communities nationwide to replace every street sign. And this has many communities up in arms because they’re the ones being forced to pay.
The mandate is unfunded and will cost millions of dollars when all is said and done.
In Michigan, the money to pay for the changes will come from the gasoline and weight tax. It's money that usually helps pay for things like plugging potholes and salting snowy streets.
So, WNEM TV5 went out to see if this is the best way to be spending your tax paying dollars.
