City Council: Mini Pig Can Now Be Kept As Pet 11-23-2010

After nearly a year of denials, Roger the miniature pig will again be able to live with a 9-year-old boy with severe pet allergies.
In September, the Midland City Council unanimously denied a request to allow the 4-pound animal to live at a home that Ethan White shares with his parents, Jason and Lisa.
But on Monday, the White family was granted their request to keep the miniature pig as a pet within the city limits.
Local ordinances did not allow residents to own pigs. The amended ordinance places stiff stipulations on keeping the pigs, including only one pig per household and a $25 annual license fee.
Ethan says the pig is his "best friend in animal life."
