After Fire, Soccer Complex To Get New Pavilion 11-23-2010

The Saginaw Township soccer complex will get a new pavilion soon.
Officials have chosen a contractor to re-construct and expand the pavilion.
The pavilion on McCarty Road was torched by an arsonist in August.
The new structure will be about 600 square feet larger than the original, connecting the pavilion to the concession stand.
Construction is expected to start next week and wrap up within two months, and insurance will cover the costs.
Saginaw Township fire officials said the blaze at the soccer complex pavilion was purposely set.
A 19-year-old man and 16-year-old boy linked to the pavilion fire have were arrested and arraigned in August.
Neighbors told investigators they saw flames coming off of picnic tables under the pavilion before the fire spread to the structure itself.
Investigators said the fire started in trash barrels and spread to those picnic tables.
Damage to the pavilion was estimated as high as $80,000.
