Investigators Probe 3 Abandoned-House Fires 12-01-2010

Crews from the Saginaw Fire Department were called to three abandoned house fires on Wednesday morning -- all started within 2 hours of each other.
The latest fire began around 9:30 a.m. at a home at 550 S. Weadock Avenue.
The battalion chief at the scene of the third fire told TV5’s Liz Gelardi he’s not sure if the fires are connected.
The fire marshal told TV5 the fires were very suspicious and two of the three showed similar characteristics.
Fire investigators said they are trying to determine the exact cause of the blazes, and they could be arson.
Gelardi said one of the homes will be torn down due to the fire, but another home cannot be demolished due to its historical value.
Besides the Weadock Avenue house fire, the other fires were reported on Owen and Jefferson streets.
