Lawmakers Rush To Wrap Up 2009-10 Session 12-02-2010

Michigan lawmakers are expecting a long day as they possibly wrap up the state Legislature's 2009-10 session.
Supporters of changes to teacher evaluation rules, insurance coverage for autism treatments, increased funding for the Pure Michigan tourism campaign and dozens of other topics will make final pushes to get their measures passed Thursday.
Many of them face long odds against passing. Legislation that isn't adopted before adjournment for the year will die and have to be re-introduced during the legislative session that starts in January.
Major tax and budget-related issues are likely to be left for Republican Gov.-elect Rick Snyder and the new state Legislature to tackle.
