Man Rescued After Getting Stuck In Grain Silo 12-03-2010

Rescue crews were called to the Star of the West Milling Company around noon on Friday after a man doing maintenance on top of a processing silo got his leg stuck in one of the elevators.
Authorities said the man was suspended about 80 feet in the air during the ordeal.
Crews used a crane to rescue the man, who was taken by helicopter to St. Mary's Hospital.
Officials with the company said the man’s leg slipped between the area he was working and got stuck.
They said no damage was done to the man's foot or leg.
The company told TV5 later in the day that the man will be kept in the hospital overnight for observation.
Star of the West Milling Company operates grain elevators throughout Michigan. This incident occurred at its Reese location.
