Baby Jesus Figure Stolen From Tire Store Display 12-09-2010

The Grinch who stole baby Jesus? It's true in one Mid-Michigan town.
Mount Pleasant police said they've received a report of an apparent theft of a baby Jesus figurine from a nativity scene.
The theft happened at the Olson Tire Store located on East Pickard Street in Mount Pleasant last Friday.

The tire store owner, John Olson, said he's been at the location for 51 years and he has put up the nativity scene near the busy intersection of Picard and Mission streets every year for the last three years.
Olson said the baby Jesus was bolted down in the manger and someone ripped it from a wooden platform.
He’s ordered another one, at a cost of $150 and filed a police report. Olson said if someone were to return the statue to the nativity scene, he wouldn’t ask any questions.
Customers of Olson’s expressed displeasure at the theft, but also said they weren’t surprised it happened.
