Slick Spots For Many During Morning Commute 12-10-2010

With temperatures in the 20s, untreated roads proved to be very slick even as total snowfall remained below one inch throughout Mid-Michigan.
Saginaw County Central Dispatch said they received reports of about 23 wrecks during the Friday morning commute.
Just before 7 a.m. Saginaw County Central Dispatch reported that one person was struck along northbound Interstate 75 near the Bridgeport exit after leaving their vehicle following a traffic crash.
Several additional accidents occurred along I-75 in both directions between Birch Run and Buena Vista Township throughout the morning, including a rollover injury near mile marker 139 in Saginaw County.

Two vehicle crashes were reported in Genesee County. Central Dispatch told WNEM TV5 a traffic crash on southbound I-75 south of Pierson Road, and northbound I-75 just north of Holly Road occurred before 6 a.m.
In Lapeer County, only one major traffic crash was reported on M-24 just south of Columbiaville Road.
Meteorologist Mike Cameron said that that any slick roads will improve by midday as temperatures climb into the 30s.
Today: Snow, possibly mixing with freezing drizzle after 7am, then gradually ending. High near 36. Southwest wind between 15 and 17 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Little or no ice accumulation expected. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Tonight: Cloudy, with a low around 27. Southwest wind between 6 and 11 mph.
Saturday: A 20 percent chance of snow after 1pm. Cloudy, with a high near 36. Light wind becoming southeast between 13 and 16 mph.
Saturday Night: Snow, possibly mixed with rain. Low around 26. Southeast wind 11 to 18 mph becoming southwest. Winds could gust as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.
