Come Thursday, More Flint Police Face Layoffs 12-14-2010

Fewer police officers will be patrolling Flint streets by the end of the week.
TV5 has been informed layoff notices have been issued to 20 police officers.
Those layoffs will go into effect when the officer's shift ends on Thursday.
Right now there are 142 police officers in the city of Flint. By Friday, there will only be 122 officers on the payroll.
The cuts will also bring the Flint road patrol down to 67.
In March of this year, the city cut 46 officers in an effort to curb the city’s $8 million deficit.
In 1987, Flint had more than 300 officers on its payroll. On Monday, the city broke its 1986 murder record after a man was found shot inside a car.
His death marked the city's 62nd homicide.
