Former Mayor Brunner Sworn In As State Rep. 12-15-2010

Charles M. Brunner is heading to Lansing to represent the 96th House District.
The former Bay City Mayor was officially sworn in as a state representative Tuesday at the UAW 362 Hall, 4427 Wilder Road.
"There was an opportunity to serve -- not only Bay City -- but southern Bay County at the state level," Brunner previously told WNEM TV5. "I worked very hard for that opportunity and promise the folks of this area I will serve them well."
Brunner ended his tenure as mayor earlier this month after defeating Republican challenger Dennis Poirer in the November general election.
Brunner has been Bay City's mayor since 2007. He served as the 9th Ward Bay City Commissioner from 2001-2007 and was the Bay City Commission President in 2006.
Last week, Commissioner Christopher Shannon was appointed the new mayor of Bay City.
