Homeowner Blocked In After County Clears Road 12-15-2010

Residents in Huron County continue to struggle through the aftermath of the season’s first major storm on Sunday.
It wasn’t until Tuesday morning that the National Weather Service lifted the blizzard warning for the county.
However, Cass City resident Peggy Liss says she's not as worried about the blizzard conditions, as she is about the massive snow drift that now blocks her driveway.
Liss said when the Huron County Road Commission cleared M-53, they left a 5-foot snow drift in front of her house.
Liss told WNEM TV5 she’s disabled and is worried rescue crews would have a difficult time reaching her in case of an emergency.
"I have to wait until Thursday until the farmer down the road can get a big plow to get me out," Liss said. "I don't think it's right that I cannot get out of my driveway if something should happen."
Liss said she’s happy to see crews clear the roadway, but believes they should also be responsible for removing the large snow pile they’ve created in the process.
