School District Plans Ways To Aid Fire Victims 12-16-2010

A family of six has been left homeless after flames tore through their Saginaw County home.
The fire broke out around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 600 block of Hickory Street in Carrollton Township.
The family has four young children, three of whom are in elementary school.
Friends of the family told WNEM TV5 the family now needs winter clothing, household items and, if possible, Christmas gifts to replace the ones lost in the fire.
The family has two sons and two daughters. One of the children was taken to an area hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation. He has since been released.
Anyone who wants to help the family can drop off gift cards or cash donations at Carrollton Elementary School from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Thursday through Tuesday, Dec. 21.
"I'm very optimistic that we will be able to help them," said superintendent Craig Douglas. "We're doing all we can as a school family to get behind this community family."
The school’s address is 3211 Carla Drive, Carrollton, MI 48604.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
