By the end of the year, the last unit of the Boys and Girls Club in Saginaw County will shut its doors for good.
The organizations board cites a drop in donations and volunteers as the cause for the closure.
The group is hoping to someday reopen the Longfellow location on E. Remington Street.
The closure earlier this year of two other units, the Stone Unit on State Street and Merrill Park Unit on Maple Street, directly affected about 400 young people.
The group said earlier this year it would work with other organizations to provide youth services through alternative programs, if it determines it is unable to reopen the two locations.
If you would like to support the Boys and Girls Club, donations can be sent to 907 E. Remington and people seeking to volunteer can contact John Ayala at 989-399-4681 for more information.
