Family Escapes House Fire; No Injuries Reported 12-24-2010

Firefighters in Owosso were called to a house fire on East Williams St. just after 8 a.m. and they arrived to heavy smoke billowing out of the basement.
The family of five living at the home was able to escape the blaze and no injuries were reported, but paramedics were called in to stand by.
Right now there’s no word on what started the fire, but it was contained to the basement.
TV5's Brian Wood said the home was not visibly damaged on the outside, but the family is temporarily homeless.
“As of now, I have no place to go at this point,” said the homeowner. “We don’t really have the money to go out and stay at a motel, so, I’ll probably just try to find somebody else to stay with.”
At last check, the family was headed to Corunna to talk with the Red Cross in an effort to find a place to stay.
