Thomas Family Sells Legendary Burger Franchise 12-28-2010

The Thomas family will no longer be at the helm of one of best-known fast food restaurants in the Flint area.
The Halo Burger franchise will be sold Tuesday to Dortch Enterpises LLC, which already owns 40 Subways in Michigan.
The burger joint has been around since the early 1920s and was began by a man named Sam Blair at the Kewpee Hotel in downtown Flint.
Halo Burger currently has nine locations in Genesee County and Birch Run and employs about 200 people.
The details of the deal were not released.
An official news release regarding the sale is expected to be released later this week.
