City's Historic District Expands By 200 Properties 12-31-2010

There’s some good news for residents living near Bay City's current historic district.
They could see some state tax credits that will help them maintain their homes.
Officials are hoping to expand the Midland Street historic district by about 200 properties.
Residents there said they're glad to hear the news because upkeep on the older homes can be a nightmare.
The expansion will take the district west of Wenona Street, on either side of Midland Street and out to Euclid Avenue.
That area is a local historic district right now, but those tax credits aren't available because it's not recognized by the state.
