Serial Stabbing Suspect To Undergo Mental Exam 1-03-2011

Accused serial stabber Elias Abuelazam has been ordered to undergo a mental evaluation.
WNEM TV5 has also learned a judge has denied a defense motion to have the case moved from Genesee County, saying the request was premature.
The issue will be revisited during jury selection when potential jurors will be asked if they can be fair and impartial with the accused serial stabber.
Abuelazam faces charges of murdering three people and trying to murder five others for a series of stabbings in the Flint area.
He's also charged with attempted murder in Toledo, Ohio, and suspected in similar attacks in Leesburg, Va., where he once lived.
Abuelazam will be back in court Jan. 10 on charges of assault with intent to murder in the case of Antwionne Jackson.
