National Dentistry Chain Closes Genesee Office 1-04-2011

A New York-based dental chain has unexpectedly shut its offices nationwide, including its location in Genesee County, because of apparent cash-flow problems.
Patients in states including New York, Michigan, Wisconsin and New Hampshire report going to Allcare Dental & Dentures offices for scheduled appointments over the last couple of days only to find the doors closed.
The company had an estimated 38 locations. They include Ann Arbor, Auburn Hills, Clinton Township, Flint, Gregory, Jackson, Lansing, Livonia, Muskegon Portage, Roseville and Taylor, Mich.
Closings were also reported in Ohio and Pennsylvania.
A call Tuesday to Allcare's chief executive, David Pennington, hasn't been returned, and the company's website is down.
Employees at Allcare's home office in the Buffalo, N.Y., suburb of Clarence told WIVB-TV they were told to come in over the weekend to collect their belongings.
New Hampshire's Board of Dental Examiners says it received a notice from Allcare on Monday saying the company had run out of money.
Patients can call 877-765-8388 for any consumer complaints.
