100 Stitches Required After Boy Mauled By Dog 1-05-2011

An investigation is under way in Bay City after a child was attacked by a dog.
Police said it happened around 6 p.m. on Tuesday in the 300 block of Jennison Street when the 8-year-old boy, Cameron Everette, was walking home and slipped and fell.
The boy's mother told TV5 the pit bull pounced and mauled Cameron, where extensive damage was done to the boy's left leg.
“I looked at his leg and it was just chewed up like hamburger meat,” said Cameron’s step-father, Joe Hill. “It’s sad.”
TV5 was told the child's injuries were severe enough to require 100 stitches. Cameron's parents said he'll spend at least one more day in the hospital.
“He’s going to be on a walker for a couple of weeks,” said Cameron’s mom, Kim Nadoliy. “He can’t put weight on his leg right now.”
Officials with Bay County Animal Control picked up the dog.
“The dog’s been a nuisance in our neighborhood for a long time,” said Nadoliy. “He’s attacked other dogs and killed other dogs in our neighborhood, attacked my dog.”
Bay County prosecutors said they are still reviewing facts in the case, but they say they are expecting to file felony charges against the owner of the dog.
