Members of the school board voted unanimously Thursday night to close an elementary school in the Buena Vista School District.
Brunkow Elementary School will shut down at the end of this academic year.
School officials said third, fourth, fifth and sixth grades will move from Brunkow Elementary into Ricker Middle School and second-grade classes now at Brunkow will move to Doerr Elementary School.
The consolidation plan is expected to save the district nearly $274,000.
District officials said a handful of layoffs may occur due to the closure.
