1 Hospitalized After 2-Car Crash Near Freeland 1-14-2011

A 27-year-old Freeland woman was hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash just south of Freeland Friday morning.
Tittabawassee Township police said the collision occurred near the intersection of Midland and Tittabawassee roads around 7 a.m.
Police said a 2005 Chevy Cavalier driven by Ashley Lorraine Kabobel was traveling southbound on a snow covered Midland Road when her car spun out of control and crossed into the northbound lane.
Her vehicle was struck by a northbound Chevy truck being driven by 50-year-old Patrick Joseph Gorney. Jaws of Life emergency equipment was used to extract Kabobel from her vehicle, police said.
She was transported to a Covenant HealthCare Cooper in Saginaw and was last listed in stable condition.
Emergency responders diverted traffic in both directions on Midland Road for about an hour.
Police said both drivers were wearing safety belts.
