Car Strikes Front Loader, Boy Critically Injured 1-19-2011

Genesee County sheriff’s deputies are investigating a crash Tuesday in Vienna Township that critically injured an 11-year-old boy.
Deputies said a 2007 Chevrolet Uplander van, driven by a 32-year-old Mt. Morris woman, was traveling north on Dort Highway when it struck a John Deere front loader that was in the northbound lanes of Saginaw Street.
According to a news release, the front loader was pulling a Pontiac Sunfire that was involved in an earlier crash at the same location.
The front-seat passenger in the van, an 11-year-old boy, was critically injured. Deputies said two children in the rear seat of the van suffered minor injuries while the driver was uninjured.
The driver of the front loader was jailed on prior warrants, according to the news release.
