2nd Shaken Baby Incident Reported In Mid-Mich. 1-19-2011

A Genesee Township man has been charged and arraigned in connection to the abuse of his 8-month-old daughter.
Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton said 21-year-old Corey Martin Yeager, 21, is charged with first-degree child abuse related to an incident at a home on Bray Road.
According to Genesee Township Police reports, on Sunday, the baby was taken by ambulance to the hospital after exhibiting symptoms consistent with being shaken or jarred.
The Flint Journal reported the baby, Lilly Mae Yeager, is in critical condition at a Genesee County hospital.
Child protective services was also contacted and a second child, believed to be 22-months-old, has been removed from the home and turned over to a grandmother.
Yeager is being held on $50,000 bond. A pretrial conference is set for Jan. 21 and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 1.
This is the second case of a shaken baby reported in the county this week.
On Monday, 19-year-old Deangelo Jamal Henderson was charged in what’s being called the city’s second homicide of the year after his 4-month-old daughter was shaken to death.
