Police Say Man Stabs Dog With Samurai Sword 1-20-2011

A Saginaw man is in police custody, accused of stabbing his neighbor’s dog in the neck with samurai sword.
The incident happened Sunday at a home on Woodbridge on the city’s west side.
Trenton John Rambo, 35, is facing a single count of killing or torturing an animal. He was arraigned on Tuesday.
The dog, a 4-year-old female Alaskan husky named Mekie, had to undergo emergency surgery and is still recovering.
The owner of the dog, Joe Larry, said the wound to the dog's neck went so deep that it cut into her trachea. Larry says he has never had problems with any of his neighbors and has never met the alleged stabber.
If convicted, Rambo faces a maximum penalty of four years in prison or a fine up to $5,000. He could also be ordered to pay the veterinarian bills.
