Man Pinned Under Semi Finds Way To Text Fiancee 1-20-2011

The national news has dubbed it the Michigan Miracle -- a story of a Millington man who survived being trapped beneath an 18-wheel tractor-trailer for several hours.
Just before 6 a.m. Tuesday Mark Keineth was traveling south on Interstate 75 in northern Genesee County when his vehicle crossed an icy-snow slush mix and spun out onto the shoulder of the highway.
A tractor-trailer behind Keineth’s tried to get out avoid his car but couldn’t. Both vehicles ended up in the ditch, with the semi’s trailer landing on top of the car.

Amazingly, the 30-year-old had the presence of mind to stay calm and call 911 to rescue him.
During the dramatic rescue, Keineth reclined his seat and sent several text messages to his fiancée Katie Reinert to let her know he was alive.
"I just wanted to let her know that I was alright and that I loved her," Keineth said. "I was just hoping for the best."
Despite being trapped in his pancaked Chevy Malibu, rescue crews said the position of the trailer’s load and the banks of the ditch ended up keeping Keineth safe.
The miracle man joined the "CBS Early Show" Thursday to share his story of survival. You can watch the entire segment by clicking the video below:
