Burst Pipe Triggers Fire Alarm At County Building 1-25-2011

It's a case of déjà vu in Bay City, as firefighters were called out to the Bay County building around noon Tuesday after a frozen pipe burst and activated the fire alarm.
The pipe dumped several inches of water into the basement, and even flowed out the back door.
Authorities said the pipe froze after a heater in a stairwell failed, and that triggered the fire alarm.
Repairs to the pipe are underway.
Firefighters were also trying to track down what was causing a strange odor in the building.
Employees were forced to evacuate briefly until fire crews gave the building the all clear.
Mid-Michiganders will probably remember that last October, Bay City Hall suffered massive damage after a fire set off sprinklers there.
